I went to nutritionist on Tuesday. I have lost 3lbs while doing carb cycling. More importantly, my measurements have changed as well. Specifically my waist! I went from a 30" waist to 28"! That's pretty good in 1 month.
I liked carb cycling 2 days a week as I achieved my goal and then some, it feels like I have more freedom to do CICO on other days, and the clean eating definitely helped my autoimmune issues.
Since I lost more weight than originally planned my nutritionist suggested I only do carb cycling once a week or not at all as she doesn't want me to continue weight loss. Since I feel better on this plan I'll continue once a week and see how it goes.

LivinBreezy, when I say clean eating I mean non processed. I won't say I've been 100% successful, I did indulge a bit while my granddaughter was visiting. I was pretty strict before that though. I think I was about 70% no processed. For instance, yesterday was my husband's bd and we went out to dinner and I ate Italian. That's ok because I've been eating healthy all week for most part and it's all about balance. 💜

Crystal, thank you. Overall I feel this was a successful endeavor. My only regret is that I wasn't able to truly stay on track due to traveling, and my gd being here, and not being able to workout as much as usual while in Calif. I am curious as to what results would be if I was in my normal environment. 💜

Clean eating is the best! I've just recently upped mine to 85% because I'm trying to lower my cholesterol levels by July, and quite frankly I'll probably keep things this way beyond that. It helps if you like to cook and try new things. Great job on whittling down that waist, Diana!

Just bananas, 85% clean is really good! I will strive for that! I do love to cook and find eating fresh foods makes my body feel better overall. I get that a calorie is a calorie no matter if it's sugary and processed or pure. For me that's not what it was about. The difference in my joints and just the feeling of well being was my greatest reward. Best of luck with lowering your cholesterol. At 85% non processed you should be successful! 💜💜

Thanks, Diana. The 15% processed is really just condiments: EEOV, sesame oil, vinegars, Dijon mustard, wasabi paste and hot sauces. If you count dried beans & lentils and dry spices (cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, peppercorns, etc.) as processed, then we can add those to the total, but I do crush up spices by hand and cook the beans myself. I'm mostly sticking to raw fruits & veggies, and stir frying the veggies that need heat (like Brussel sprouts and eggplant). No pasta, no rice for now. Been at it for a month and so far, so good.

UPDATE... I just reread my post. I don't know what I was thinking ...I meant to say I wanted to lose 3 lbs but ended up losing 5 lbs. I was 133, now 128. That's why nutritionist doesn't want me to continue to lose anymore..sorry...I was thinking way ahead of my typing I guess..🤪🤪🤪

I think that must score as an astonishing success - when your nutritionist does not want you to lose any more weight ... Wow. Good for you Diana. Healthy is better.

Ccandco and jergens. Thank you for your kind words! My nutritionist definitely wants me to strive to be healthy. She is into eating no processed as much as possible for the effects it has on our bodies. Especially at my age. (64) You should see her body! She is very lean and muscular. She definitely practices what she preaches. I'm blessed to have found her. She is super knowledgeable as well, both in nutrition and working out. It's like I get a twoofer when I see her! 💪💪

There is a gal at my pool who teaches a simple but effective water aerobics glass to some older ladies. They go for a continuous hour. She watches their form and really seems to know what she is doing. When she doesn’t have “clients” she can really demonstrate some solid swimming technique and she ups the game considerably on her own exercise activity. I just learned yesterday that she is 94 years old. Totally knocked my socks off. She doesn’t have a wrinkle on her face and she has a well toned shaped. I talked to her today. She is a certified instructor and has been teaching water aerobics since she retired at 62 years old. I tip toed back to my section of the pool and continued to do my workout very quietly.
