I think you hate mechanical cardio, not cardio. which I do as well. I love to be outside and moving, not in love with the machine bound versions.

Wow, I thought I was only cardio hater around. Most of my friends love it...and Katsolo, u are right. I hate mechanical cardio but enjoy outdoor activities. 💜💜

But riding, swimming and hiking are cardio? Lol, I get the impression everyone hates cardio these days. I'm the opposite. I adore cardio (just not the boring type on the machines, I'm with you on that), need it for my mental health, and I just do the weights because I know they're important. Don't hate them, don't love them.

Forgot to say you look excellent, as always.

My hubby doesn't like cardio, either. The most he's been doing is walking. He used to run on the shore, but he's not been motivated to do that now that he's getting older. IDK, maybe it's a man-thing:MANOPAUSE?! I, on the other hand, luv cardio. Cardio is one's best friend. However, I will do treadmill, incumbent bike, Nordic-track, stair-climber, row-machine, swing-on-a-swing (lol), bicycle, peddal-boat, some jump-rope, I also swim/wade/spalsh in pools/rivers/lakes/ocean/bath & shower (lol), hike, dance, step/aqua aerobics, some jumping-jacks, & strolls/walks. It's all CARDIO as long as it gets your heart-rate up to 120 bpm or more. Cardio is good in increments and helps boost metabolisms that have gotten sluggish (like mine), if done in 8, 10, 12, minutes, w/1 minute of rest btwn the next increment. When I was younger, I did the whole enchilada: 1 hour straight cardio. Sometimes, I would use 3-4 different machines, when I was in the gym. Now, I just change it up btwn: hiking, swimming, biking, dancing, step-aerobics, jumping-jacks/jumping-rope, & walking has become my fave and the one that I enjoy the most bc I can meditate as well as ppl-watch while I'm doing it. I luv to see ppl having fun, enjoying themselves & being romantic. :)))

LC, thank u, I'm trying to keep up with the young ones . Lol..don't think I'm anywhere near there though.😆😫 Slow, must be my ADD. I get bored easily and so inside cardio equipment just doesn't do it for me. I wish I could run on treadmill or ride stationary bike etc for an hour but my mind wanders to much..I'm very competitive so I when I weight lift I constantly challenge myself to go heavier or more reps and it's constant change of movements, not same thing over and over...I envy you!💜💪

that's like me and the love / hate with the treadmill. it's so boring even when I turn on a movie, but I'm not good at sitting through movies anyways. that said, glad I have it. one day, I'll take it out of the family room but for now, it's fine. I do like the burn bar on fitness+. invisible competition

Well done - I love weights, too. I do not mind rowing or elliptical a little too

My son loves lifting, he can lift for hours. He gets in a zone. But his hour of cardio bores the daylights out of him. I told him maybe he should try sprints to break it up instead of straight running. You know mix it up! I honour you guys who devote time to improve your health! You are amazing!!

Bgr12. I just want to be healthy. If I don't exercise, my autoimmune issues kick in and I get super stiff and have alot of joint pain.

Little mermee..Awe thank u! I wish I could run. I get really bad shin splints.Hiking and biking are more my thing..( weights are my #1) I met my husband over 30 years ago at the gym. He was Diablo, back in the day...very buff! As the years went by he got injured, had a knee replacement, and he quit working out. He enjoys working outside, and he rebuilds high end bikes and it's ok with me. He is the love of my life, my soulmate and best friend! He does hike and bike with me. 💜💜

Cardio lover here! 220 minus your age is your max HR. My MTB bike can keep my HR @ 140-160 until I’m wore smooth out. (1-2hrs) Wear your HR monitor when lifting? I’m betting lifting can be cardio too if done ...... quilckly.

60 pack, weight lifting is definitely a good workout. It continues to burn calories even after you've stopped your workout. I do try to get cardio in for the toning factor. It helps get rid of muffin top for example..💜💜

I get bored easy too. That's why I would use 3-4 different machines: 15 minutes on each=1 hour or, 20 minutes on 3 different machines each=1 hour. I used to run 5 miles 3-4 x's per week w/my big sis in the late '70's - early '80's: @the gym's track (indoors), on the shoreline (near/on the water), college tracks, school tracks, parks, sand @ beach, but NEVER on a treadmill. Yuck!!! The elliptical is fun too. I agree w/Diana 1234 about the stiffness if I don't work out. Plus, I get depressed easy when I'm bored and I have to break up the monotony by exerting energy somehow or I go nuts inside my own self. Even just a simple stroll/walk helps me sleep better at night. :) Little_mermee is on the right track. Luv your cardio & it will luv you back. Our hearts are our largest muscle. Take care of it. Love it! And, it will love you for it. Weights can be used as cardio if using light weights and doing many reps. I used to luv to lift, heavy-weights, until I was told by my physician not to lift heavy weights anymore in my late 40's. I used to used 45 lb dumbbells. I can't even budge them now. lol Take care, all.

Looking awesome...God Bless

Me too! But I thought biking, hiking and swimming were cardio too? I don’t mind walking if I have someone with me and I love racing my kids who are in track even though my teenager stomps me lol. Short races though. Actually hate running as it kills my shins and usually gives me a headache.

Diana, no way could I run on the treadmill for an hour. Outside, no problem. On a treadmill, I'm bored to tears (I recently learned what that expression felt like - I got the strange urge to cry because I was getting so bored on the treadmill and elliptical some days). Also very competitive, but for me it takes the form of "How much longer can you go? Pick up the pace" and competing with other runners (lol).
