Best to have someone to accompany/ run with you for safety when it is dark out there. Take care! 

Thanks Matt! It wasn’t dark but it got dark toward the end. I should have gone a little earlier. I don’t have anyone nearby that wants to run with me, though my garmin would alert my fiancé if it sensed an emergency  

I have a set of reflective straps that i wear in winter over my clothes. Got them from Walmart.com. It looks like the edges of a vest and is very visible. Be safe! 

Cindy do you have a dog you can run with? I used to run in the dark. I always felt like i could run farther in the dark than in the daytime. I loved the feeling of moving under the moon. However, when i was 24 i was running (with my collie-good sized dog) down the road that lead to my house on a dead end road. Houses all had acreage so were fairly spread out and a car went past me. No big deal, although was probably 1 am, and then all of a sudden it braked and started to back up. I got spooked and ran to the nearest house and hid behind it with my dog who was growling. I had my hand firmly around her muzzle trying to keep her quiet and could hear a couple of men outside the car saying “where did she go?” They looked for me for a little while. Could have been 10 minutes could have been 30. I was sweating profusely knowing if they found me i would be in trouble even with my dog. Eventually they gave up and left. I was about 3/4 mile from my house and my legs felt like concrete as i ran home. My boyfriend never even knew i left the house nor that i had returned. God saved me that day. I still ran in the dark but after that i was very very aware of cars and my surroundings in the event of emergency. Not trying to scare you but be so careful and mace is your friend.  

Ditto on this. Even with the dogs, I’ve had to hide a handful of times over the years. Always after dark. I carry a small pepper spray and have threatened to use it a few times. If nothing else, it maintains distance.  

Disaster waiting to happen ladies. You read about it in the papers every day.  

Saw your bio that others told you you were “too skinny.” While being severely underweight is not healthy…The same people do not go around telling others they are too fat.. Consider the health risks increased by fat… Weight related diabetes and what can follow .. amputation blindness loss of mobility.. Then consider one pound of fat is seven miles of capillaries for your heart to pump blood through! Hypertension stroke and fatal heart attacks are all expected more often with every pound of increased obesity. Or there is a spiritual approach, He, was not called Master because He was cracking a whip. He, was in charge, of his body, not the other way around. So let the words that are not your own best judgement fade into the perhaps jealousy, perhaps misinformed, and definitely in the it is not yours to choose for me pile! Good idea on the light. Drivers are often lost in their phones these days. I want to get a reflector vest. We have two of the old-style boxy flashlights for walking the doggos in the dark -- a must-do lately in the evenings, with these 99F days.
