Another pump day..just wanted to clarify that I checked leg press at gym and no info on how much sled n bar weigh. Asked staff,noone knew! After research I was able to find out that sled is 90lbs, bar weighs about 8 lbs. Wasnt clear if its apiece or not.

You look fabulous and strong! Ok so I know we are not supposed to compare ourselves but I entered your information since we are the same on weight and close on age category in my app and that is awesome what your are doing. So for ladies in our age group/weight you are an intermediate. A beginner would be at 62#, a Novice at 124#. So shout it out "whoot whoot!"

Redporch, if you count the sled and bar weight, which my trainer said to do, I pressed 208 lbs. I'm feeling better about that. I was a bit down last night but I know I'm getting stronger, especially after being so sick. I think that we are getting stronger everyday, we both have been through a lot. 💜👍💪

They average for LP sleds is around 100lb. But, they all differ. That is why when recording weight for LP people just use the amount they put on. The force/strength required to push the sled alone can vary not only with weight of the sled but also the angle of the sled. So, it is random… Have yourself a day!

At planet fitness it is 118# and at the other gym I had to go to during covid, it was 200#.

Cheesegobbler, thanks love, I feel better now. I am doing upper body tomorrow. Gonna push myself to increase weights, even if it means less reps. Just curious, what are your strongest and weakest muscle groups?💜💪

Gettingcut, Yes, apparently it has to do with the 45 degree angle on leg press but after researching it myself I got a general answer.👍. DP, I left a comment to you on my last post but that is quite a difference in weight from machine to machine. I actually went to products website and asked the question. 👍💜

Weight is a force. So, if it is a 45 degree angle sled and the full sled weight is 98lb sitting on the floor, the formula for the amount of weight of the sled you are pushing is Fn=mg(cos(theta)). So, cos45 is .525 or roughly 1/2. so, Fn=98lb(0.525)=51.5lb. That is how it has to do with a 45 degree angle. On a 45 degree angle half the weight is felt in a straight down direction and half the weight is felt in a lateral direction. So you feel half the weight at a 45 degree angle. If the sled actually weighs 200lb sitting on the floor, you are actually pushing 100lb, etc. For at a steeper angle, more of the weight would be felt pushing. For a shallower angl, less of the weight would be felt pushing.
