I finally got the answer to why I got so sick about a month ago. When I finally got ito see my doctor I asked for a blood test to see if I indeed had Covid antibodies in my system, even though I tested negative 3 xs. Sure enough I tested positive! I always thought that possibly I did have COVID or RSV but felt like the Drs weren't listening to me. My Dr didn't even want to do the Covid antibody test, I had to insist. He felt like I was better so what was the point? I feel like it will help me in the future and since I have residual effects I can now properly deal with those. I do have an appointment with a pulmonologist and I'm still changing doctors. I was extremely unhappy with the care I got ( or lack of..)

Yea that is crazy, as bad as this sounds you’re not the only one that that has happened to. My friend was having lung problems for a long time too. I told him it all sounds like covid and he also took the covid test 3x and got a negative. It was til the 4th time that it revealed that it’s Covid

Good job insisting. 👍👍 No need to root cause if the symptons go away, right? Not the best approach for syphallus; just sayin‘ 🙃😅

Wow, Diana-but unfortunately I’m not surprised you were (failed to be) treated that way. I hope all the residual effects clear up, and soon!

Super! Wow, that's scary! I hope he is ok now!👍 Tom, thank you. I hope so too!💜. Sk, that's the issue..could or would they have treated it differently if they knew it was covid? I took antibiotics and I had heard ( early on) that that was bad for covid. Also if I would've gotten Plaxovid would that have shortened/ lessoned my symptoms? I definitely have residual effects. Lung issues and the extreme achiness and tiredness is prevalent. I'm still having asthma attacks.🤔

Diana, my big takeaway from this for you is that you stood UP to your doc and required them to give you that test. Crazy that one has to be forceful in these cases. It all makes sense tho. Also, folks in your gym had had covid right before you got it? When that happens at my physical therapy location (where i go to do my training) i stay away for about 5 days. My lungs are so fragile that way I just dont feel like i can risk it. Please please see pulmonologist as soon as you can. Have them do the in depth pulmonary function testing so you have a base line to know what you are dealing with and hopefully it’s nothing. Glad you are back on track tho!

Having been in the hospital twice within a month, I've encountered quite a few doctors (I've had three different teams of doctors plus emergency room). All of them were excellent, except for one, but that one had a definite impact on my recovery. And she was not happy with me when I spoke up about her lack of response to my needs.

I'm glad you finally know what made you so sick. I remember thinking it sounded like Covid, especially the difficulty in breathing. I haven't had Covid but several months ago I had a fever of over 100 for no apparent reason and I wondered if it could be a mild case of it. Took s home test which came back negative. I ordered the free Covid tests at the end of May just before the program expired. The box indicated false negative tests were possible. Like you, I don't accept my doctor saying tests for whatever are negative without pushing them to find out what the problem is.

Year of Health, I really had to insist with my Dr! He was pretty indifferent about testing me. I think I must've asked him 3-4 times during my one visit. I've always thought I had covid or RSV. At least I know. I see pulmonologist in July. Hopefully he is good. The one I used to see years ago retired. Thanks for all the support you gave me!💜 Cheesegobbler, Thanks, Im curious to see if my Dr or his nurse even calls me to notify me. I found out through Quest which is the lab where I had the blood drawn. 💜 Fritzy, I had one home test and 2 tests done at doctor's. I figured theirs would be more accurate. I guess not...💜. Shirl, Im glad you are home and your experience was pretty scary. Im glad the majority of your doctors were good. 💜 Suzelite, wow you have been through a lot and good for you for sticking up for yourself!💜

Oh, I am sorry to hear what you got through because of reckless physician. Consequences of Covid-19 are not easy ones to ignore. I got it when I was in ICU last year. It is lucky to meet health care providers who willingly listen to patients' concerns. I wish you all the best. ❤️

I am glad you have finally found out!! Also that you are switching doctors. This has been so fustrating fro you. I have been one my entire life to never get sick (except for cancer) and could probably count 5x in my life I was sick and had to stay home. But this last winter was the worst and it all started after I got my booster and I dealt with it all winter. I had not had covid and then caught it twice within 3 months of each other. It has been 4 months and I feel like I am at least back to normal now.

Redporch, this has been a bad year for me as far as health goes! I was sick with the flu on my bd, tore my meniscus 3 months ago, now this COVID thing...hope I'm done for rest of year!! I remember when you got covid. I'm sure you have to be careful because of weak immune system from cancer/ cancer treatments. I'm glad you're doing well now! 💜💜
