Well I had my doctor appointment yesterday. All was very good but I am dehydrated. Based on urinalysis, I suspected that. I do drink water but guess not enough. Easy fix. Doctor was pretty pleased with most everything else but did mention my weight. He said for amount I work out I should consider staying at 130 lbs or even a bit more. As for hips, I know a few FS friends were interested in what he would say about that. He said I have bursitis based on where the pain is. ( pain is on outside part of hips) He gave me a referral to see an orthopedic Dr. His opinion is that bursitis can be treated with injections where arthritis is a harder fix. I'm guessing injections are steroids, which Im Leary about but we shall see. He also said walking is good, running is not so I'll adjust my cardio. Have a great weekend!👍💜

Cheesegobbler, I listened to you guys and didn't do heavy squats. My max, with good form, was 90 lbs.Thats doing 2 sets of 8 reps. 💜💪

My doctor said something about bursistis too. He didn't refer me to an orthopedist but he did ask if I wanted a cortizone (I think that's what it is) shot. I got it for one hip and the thigh pain. It really helps. I don't get an injection often. I remember getting a couple for my shoulder pain years ago. I figured out running isn't good for me after running a little bit awhile back. So I just walk. And walk and walk. I wouldn't be surprised if I am dehydrated as well. I am not as focussed on drinking water as others are and since I gave up sodas my beverage total for the day is really low unless I really make an effort.

Fritzy, I thought I was drinking a lot of water but I guess not enough. Water is the only beverage I drink. I will have a glass of wine when I see my sister etc which is about once a month. As for bursitis, I guess I'll be walking in treadmill from now on. I hope I can still hike cuz we do a lot of that while camping..💜

Hey, I developed bursitis in my hip after I tore my MCL & ACL. My orthopedic surgeon recommended foam roller to stretch my IT band, among other stretches and NSAIDS. If it's arthritis, there's not much you can do about except treat the pain, strength training, and eventually a hip replacement.

Ninagm, interesting! I tore my mcl ( I was mountain biking and fell down a 10 foot cliff!) a couple years ago. Never thought to connect the 2. I will use rollers as you suggested. Thanks for info! 💜

Diana if you feel you are drinking a good amount of water and is still dehydrated try increasing salt. It won’t do you any good to keep peeing it all out. Salt helps pull water into your cells.

Supergainz, thanks, I'll try that. I don't use a lot of salt so hopefully it will help.👍 Cheesegobbler, thanks! Going to a tabata/ circuit type class today that my trainer teaches. Its brutal!💪 Sugarplum, yes, he has been my Dr for about 19 years! He's great!!💜. Tim, thank you! For me working out helps me feel centered and calm. It sets the tone for my day!💜💜🙏🙏
