@Russell: Thank goodness I did not eat like a cow over the holidays, or the damage would just be that much harder to undo. I'm down 4.1 lbs. so far this month. Exercising daily. @Matt: May the new year bring an improved version of you, too! @Liv: I've never been able to do a pullup, either. Such a unicorn of a feat for women. Hopefully with 18 less pounds (8kg) to haul up, it will be easier.

@Otb: Pullups are a worthy goal 🏆. Losing the excess weight will make it more obtainable -- easier to pull up 115 lbs. than 130+. How's your wife doing with her Mudder training?

The wife is crushing it with the weight lifting aspect. She is adding weight every session and tracking it all. Her diet has been good too she needs to up her walking if she wants to keep dropping the weight though. She's been doing alot of recomposition since she got more serious with the weight lifting.

Yeah, no getting around the fact that there's miles of running to do in the Mudder. Less weight will be easier on her knees, so it'll be a win all around. Let her know I'm cheering for her! (oh -- and you too!) 😀🎉🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♂️

@Morticia: No luck involved. I think that's why so many people fail at weight loss -- they think luck, magic, wishes, prayer, and hope will swoop in and rescue them. Just set boundaries for yourself and others in your social circle. Throw away all the garbage carbs in the house, and put on your tennis shoes. 👟

chin ups are easier or so they say at least. my body gets angry at me if I try them it doesn't like that arm position for whatever reason.

@Otb: okay, I'll work on both. I found some exercises to strengthen all the muscles involved for pullups, so I'm starting with those. 😀💪🏻 Maybe I'll even do some speedwalking alongside your jogging, just to share the journey (pain) with you & the wife! (It will definitely help burn the last 18 pounds.)
