I sometimes drive through McDonald's and get the Sausage & Egg McMuffin WITHOUT the English Muffin! It is important for me to not let them GIVE it to me, so I am not tempted to EAT it! I just have them put it into a little bowl with a lid. I do the same with the Bacon McDouble - order it with JUST the meat and bacon and cheese (no bun, no condiments).

Could you ask for an extra egg instead of the bread and potatoes? that way it still feels like a good price? Our cafeteria did a breakfast special with an egg on the top and bottom + ham and cheese.
