Weather looks great and what an awesome way to get steps in by hiking 5 miles!  

Otb, No kidding! Wouldn't want to hike here in the summer! It's gets between 115-120 degrees?🌞🔥🔥🔥

Good job doing a 5 mile hike. Any hills or elevation gain? It looks beautiful. The chipmunks around Lake Tahoe are so tame. Lots of warning signs not to feed them but,........... 

Fritzy, it was relatively even ground with a few inclines here and there. Not to bad. The hike we did over the Dam was downhill going and uphill coming back. Good thing that one was only 2.5 miles as it was challenging. 

Thiccmami, it was nice. Very different landscape than what's back east but it does have its own beauty. The chipmunk was very friendly, I thought he might climb up on me...😀🦔🦔 

Love the pics. Seems like such a nice relaxing peaceful life you and Joe have Diana🥰. I also love the chipmunk💖. There are some squirrels i feed on my walks that will come within about a foot of my hand and then i drop it for them. Must be scary to be so little and not know if someone is going to be nice to you and feed you or trick you i think. How’s Sydney faring on the vacay?

Mainecoon, Storms, thanks guys!💜🌞 Rdporch, It was a beautiful day. I'm not much of a cardio person but I do like hiking. It was a great way to get steps in for sure!💜🚶🚶YOH, it has been a nice get away! We are going to breakfast and the movies tomorrow. Easy day for us! Sydney hasn't gone on any of the hikes with us. It would be to much for her but she likes going for short walks a couple times a day. She is still feeling pretty good. I'm so grateful! 💜💜💜 

Diana there are a couple folks in my neighborhood whose furry family have gotten too old or crippled and in once case fully blind to go on walks and the people push them in baby carriages. When i was young i thought that was funny but now i think that is really really sweet. Not practical on a hike tho. Just made me think of it.

YOH, we do have a wagon we take Sydney in sometimes. She isn’t real fond of it…💜 buenita, thank you! It was fun but I’m sore today..💜 wifey, yep! I do love being retired! 💜 

I love parks!!! Clearly, that is more outdoorsy than a park, but I love parks so much! I used to go out in the actual wilderness. I should try it again sometime. It has gotten above 60 degrees every day here. I took a nice, good walk several days in a row…yes, a regular park, nothing outdoorsy enough like I should, baby steps. I go on a long walk in a park several times a week now that the weather is nice. My record for steps, when I did count them, was 27,000 one day, not that that was the norm, in 2021. It was hot that day, “feels like 108,” but thank goodness that wasn’t the actual temperature at least, so not too bad. As long as there was shade, getting that many steps was nice. 

Paine, I too love parks! 27,000 steps in one day is amazing! I’m in awe! 

Thx! I’m lucky summers aren’t too hot here. We go by the “feels like” index and state that number instead to exaggerate sometimes 😂. I’m looking forward to summer again.
