I am reviewing my WOE and how I need to change it starting January 1. Actually my planned WOE is fine, I just don't follow it like I should. I don't eat large variety of food, it's mostly the same stuff all the time, fat free milk, low fat mozzarella cheese sticks, pumpkin seeds, chopped almonds or walnuts all for protein. I don't eat much meat, mostly chicken breast and canned tuna. I do have some ground beef in the freezer so I will probably make chili soon. I don't lose weight consistently because I will occasionally get a burger and fries or pizza if I go out to eat. After reviewing my food logs there are some things I will work on next year: no crackers of any kind in the house, no Hawaiian dinner rolls, forget jam on toast at 50 calories a tablespoon. Actually, probably no more toast for breakfast. I'll try to limit net carbs to a maximum of 100 grams a day. I'm not on a low carb diet, but will reduce sugar. So I probably will give up my morning coffee since I have no interest in trying to drink it black. Maybe I'll allow myself coffee once or twice a week. No more cranberry or crab grape juice until I reach a maintenance weight. I really don't like to cook, but there are lots of bagged salad mixes at the grocery store. I will TRY to stir fry more. I usually lose weight when I do that. I just hate cleaning the stove and hate cooking!

I had a nice Christmas Eve. That's always been the day my family gets together for Christmas. Went to my niece's house. My sister and brother in law were there with their 2 little dogs. I left Bobby at home because he just gets too excited. My nephew and his wife were there as well. It was really nice being with everyone. My niece's husband had me try some lotion for my knee pain and told me to keep it. It works better than anything else I've tried. It's a CBD pain cream, which I had never heard of. My niece used to work at a spa and said the massage therapists would use the lotion for pain relief massages. My knee isn't hurting too bad today. I spent about 40 minutes to an hour doing housework earlier today. If I am on my feet longer than that my knee starts throbbing with pain. I may try taking Bobby for a walk later this week. Waiting to hear about an appointment with an orthopedist. Sometimes referrals take a couple of weeks.

Glad to hear that you had a nice Christmas.. The cream sounds interesting. what is it ? It is a good idea to review the dirt journal. Sometimes it tells a story well no way I would give up coffee. you are more determined than me for sure

Thanks Liv, I stopped drinking coffee around 15 years ago, maybe more. I just started again 2 or 3 years ago so I am not addicted to it like I was before. I do like to have a hot drink in the morning. I drank hot chocolate all the years I wasn't drinking coffee but it has sugar in it too. I like tea to be sweet as well. Maybe I'll have a cup of warm milk. Not sure what all is in the lotion-maybe cannabis

Great to catch up on what you are up to. Your plan sounds good. Keeping below 100gms of net carbs a day is a good one. I will be using my 100 gm more wisely once January rolls around. I gave up coffee years ago and don't miss it. I hated it plain.

I'm so glad you had a nice Christmas with family! Since your WOE sounds similar to mine, let's do it together! I've fallen so far off the rails that it is scary! I've gained 6 lbs in about 3 weeks. I haven't gained that much weight in about 5 years! I'm like a kid in a candy store..it's ridiculous. I can't just have one cookie, I have to eat 10! So ...let's get started!! I do drink coffee and I use almond milk. 1 tablespoon. It doesn't affect my daily outcome.💜

Fritzy, they have dairy and non-dairy creamers that are sugar free. I have gotten used to stevia, but there are lots of alternatives these days. Same with the cocoa. You could make your own mix with cocoa, skim milk and monk fruit sweetener from amazon. I’m rolling back to lower carbs after i finish this pot of soup and loaf of bread in the next day or so.

Thanks Morticia! It's the same old plan, just need to figure out how to actually stick to it! I don't usually pay attention to carbs if they're in fruits and vegetables and if I just cut out the processed foods with all the added sugar (like tomato soup!) I should be okay

Thanks Diana! Good idea! I know we both try to avoid processed foods. I have a hard time with it except for processed meats. I really don't eat them much at all. I'm going to stop having pepperoni pizza! I only have it every 3 or 4 months, but I have done pizza with just black olives and mushrooms. I will finish out the year using up what's in the pantry and freezer.

Thanks Kat! I always make hot chocolate with Ghirardelli's hot cocoa mix and skim milk. Otherwise I don't really care for it. I got tired of it after drinking it daily for about 15 years. I don't like coffee enough to try to figure out other ways to drink it. I originally stopped drinking it because my doctor suggested cutting back on caffeine when he couldn't find any reason for my rapid heartbeats. Once I gave it up I never really craved it again. I do like something warm to drink in the mornings. Today I had warm milk

New year is a good time to assess and course correct as needed. Consistency can be tough. I've been struggling with it myself, and it's been showing up on the scale. I know what to do, I just don't always do it

Thanks Writing! That's me exactly! I know what to do but don't always do it! I am going to try to focus on eating more vegetables and vegetables ill TRY to clean and cut up veggies when I bring them home and have in containers for either snacking or cooking. I'm more likely to make a stir fry if the onions, mushrooms, etc are already chopped up and I just need to toss them into the Wok. Also have to try to eat beans more for the protein. I've never eaten them much except for kidney beans in chili. Maybe I'll add a few kidney beans or peas to salads
