Enough is enough! 205 this morning. I had over 3,700 calories yesterday. Starting today, I’m turning it around! A week ago, I had my psychiatrist appointment. Sink then, I’ve drunk 3 bottles of water a day. I’ve also walked a mile each day. Today, I’ve started to up that to 2 miles. Last month, I gave up the Diet Coke. I’m still drinking Diet A&W Root Beer, but I’ve cut down in the past week from 12 cans a day to between 7-8. At least it’s caffeine free. Please pray that I’ll stick with these new behaviors, and I’m going to start by trying to cut my calories down to no more than 2,000/day. It hasn’t been that “low” even for one day in the past several months (basically, since Thanksgiving). New goal is to get into the 190’s, then keep going down from there.

Cheering you on!! Somebody told me it takes three weeks for a new task/routine to become a habit. I keep saying I’m going to drink more water but I’m obviously not trying hard enough (meaning consciously) on a regular basis. This person also cited some study that people who drank 2 cups of water before each meal lost 5 pounds in 12 weeks compared to those who didn’t. You give me motivation to make some sort of plan because it’s just not happening otherwise!

10:38pm, and I’ve had about 2,500 calories, instead of the 2,000 I was hoping for. The culprit: BOGO Entenmann’s Rich Frosted Mini Donuts (over 500 calories in three of them!). Actually, the culprit is Satan, who prompted me to buy them in the first place. Or, the culprit could be just me, myself, and I - with my stupid old sin nature! Ive GOT to stop this middle-of-the-night snacking. When I went to bed, I only had ingested 1,989 calories. Tomorrow - LOTS of cabbage!!!

To fully give up sodas drink PLAIN carbinated water. one brand at the store is La Croix PURE (drink the pure one = nothing in it except carbinated water) this will be a game changer for you to get off all the soda. Look up you tube channel Dr Berg vids keto for beginners, keto flu, electrolytes, carbinated water, Dr eckberg, Dr Boz = same vids and Maria emmerich (watch all her you tube vids) wishing you all the best.

My love why oh why do you buy these things that are a temptation for you? I love ice cream. I cannot eat a reasonable amount therefore i dont buy it. I asked you a few months ago if you were self sabotaging and i think you are. The question is: why? You make forward progress and then reward yourself with poor food choices? I feel like im being mean and thats not my intention but you are cruising in such a bad direction and you know better and have done better. Please quit buying sugary food. Quit baking sugary treats. Do it for 30 days and then another 30 days and then another. I want you to be healthy my friend.

Emotional eaters need to also decrease stress getting involved in other people problems. It will help you keep from running to the kitchen for solace.

Wow! I'm reading a lot of clues regarding sugar addiction. I see it a lot in new members of my diabetes group. They have a hard time changing to an appropriate diet because of their addiction to a high amount of sugar and carbohydrates in their daily foods. Those sugars hit the same brain receptors as do narcotics. It gives them cravings of wanting more and more. Therefore, you have to break the addiction in order to be able to stay on a healthy diet. In my diabetic group, the ones who break the sugar and carbohydrate addiction are able to lose 22 lbs per month. If you go cold turkey, no sugar or high carbs for 3-4 days, you'll notice that the cravings will be gone. Then, stick to 30g of carbs per day. Meat and salad can be very filling and satisfying during those early days of withdrawal. Why doesn't 30g of carbs per day work for me? Unfortunately, I'm hyperinsulin resistant. That makes it very hard for me to lose weight. I literally have to take in fewer than 900 calories a day to lose weight. My first month here, I averaged 1200 calories a day, and I gained weight the first week. Then, my weight stayed the same in the following weeks. This past week, I took the calories down to 850-900 calories daily, and I've lost a few pounds. Another way for me to lose weight easily is to join a gym and pump iron. I've done it in the past with a 22 lb per month weight loss. Somehow, pumping iron affects my hyperinsulin resistance and allows my cells to accept insulin that lets me utilize blood sugar instead of storing it as fat. So, try to go cold turkey on sugar and high carbohydrates for a minimum of 3 days, 4 is better. Then, stick to 30g of carbs per day to keep your cravings from returning. That means no sugar free drinks, too. The sweet flavor hits the brain receptors just like sugar and continues the addiction. Once you are in the habit of drinking water, you'll notice that your drink craving is satisfied with water, as nature intended. I really think you can get rid of your sugar and food addiction once you eliminate sweet flavors and high carbs. I hope you give it a try with me.
