I ended up getting in 1.2 miles of deliberate walking today. Too tired to attempt a third set of my 45-minute Physical Therapy exercise routine. No games booked for my daughter’s Real Escape Rooms job today, so I didn’t officially have to watch the kids, though they made several appearances upstairs. Grandson (7) goes to his dad’s tonight, and granddaughter (12) goes to her dad sometime 2m0, so if no games book, it should be pretty easy on me. I needed today’s “day of rest”. My plan is to stick with one mile a day for a week, then go up a half mile a day the next week, etc., until I have built back up til 6 miles a day. By my calculations, I should be there by October 13th - less than three months after surgery. I think it’s an achievable goal, but I will pay attention to what my surgeon and my body have to say about it!

Well, my body has spoken! It is saying, “1.3 miles in a day is too much right now!” Had a bad night, pain-wise. Managed to get through it on just Tylenol, but it was still very uncomfortable. I thought sure with all the icing and elevation yesterday (about 6 hours in total) that my knee would be fine. Today’s goal: try to get in ONLY one mile, without going over, and just do the PT twice again (not the ambitious three times I was hoping to achieve). Lesson learned! Oh, weight finally back under the 190’s, PTL. I’ve been doing very well, calorie-wise. If I wasn’t self-imposing these Protein and Fiber goals, I could do even better.

Debbie you inspire me to be better! I know you will but just be careful. No need to over do it right away and have a setback. God bless you on your recovery moving forward.
