Wow, didn't realize I hadn't been recording a journal entry for a couple of days! Knees have been bad every day since I reported (on the 7th?) This morning is the worst - actually limping again. Weight is up this morning, too - probably because of inflammation, coupled with no bowel activity for two days. My daily calories are averaging under 1,450 for the week, so I know it's not my eating.

Made a Franklin Nut Cake. Sent 1/4 of it home with my husband's uncle. Gave one slice to my twin friends, and saved a slice for my husband. I ate 1/2 slice (over 300 calories). All the rest of it is nicely sliced and in a serving container for the party next Saturday. It's one of those cakes that gets better the longer it sits. Not planning to eat any more of it myself.

I've been having one piece of the homemade See's Fudge each day since I made it (110 calories for about a 1" cube). I've sent home packages of 8 pieces with my MIL, my twin friends, and my grand daughter. The recipe made FIVE POUNDS of fudge! LOTS to share at the church Christmas party on the 17th!

Been faithful in my walking 1-1/2 miles a day. Not counting today (yet), it's been 45 days of walking 1 mile and 34 days of 1-1/2 miles (total is not cumulative - that is, it's not 79 days altogether - it's just 45. ALL of them were at least a mile, but 34 of them were 1-1/2. Walking today will be a struggle with my increased knee pain! Maybe I'll do it in 2/10-mile segments instead of trying to do 1/2 mile at a time.

BIG day with my grandson today. He will be here from 9am this morning (Saturday) until 9am on Sunday. That's 6 more waking hours than we usually have him when he spends the night. I've got lots of things planned to entertain him. His school pictures are in and I bought frames yesterday for him to give them as gifts to his parents, us, his great grandma and my twin friends. I'll let him wrap them in tissue paper, teach him how to cut Christmas paper with a knife, and how to wrap them, let him do all the taping, and make To/From labels for them. He will really enjoy having gifts to give from himself. Also going to read the Christmas Story and put together the nativity set; let him make breakfast this morning (I always let him make bacon and cheesy scrambled eggs when he comes over); My friends brought over a 24-piece puzzle for him to do, and then there is a 48-piece one that we found. After that, he'll get to open one present from UNDER the tree (all 60-piece puzzles). He LOVED discovering puzzles last time he was over! I don't think he had ever done one in his life! He was so proud of his accomplishment, and did all four of the 24-piece puzzles we found here. I won't go into what else we are going to do -- this entry is too long already!

Great job on the walks, not doing your knees any good though. I'm so sorry about that. The puzzles sound like fun. I love making them too, though I've graduated to 1000 pieces now. 😉
