I had friends for dinner tonight— she is a total vegetarian and has been her entire adult life. He, on the other hand likes meat. He had never eaten Honey Baked Ham (the brand) so I bought one and then she brought a small vegetarian main dish and I made fresh roasted red beets and sautéed green cabbage. The sodium content of the ham was staggering 1000 mg for a 3 oz. serving.but it was good. When I entered the beets into the FS database it kept coming up with 250mg. I knew that was not right and tried to word it differently, but it keep coming up with that similar number. So, I went outside the program to other sites and basically got a value of about 70 mg. for 85 gms. I even looked at the Value of the beets at Fat Secret selected by Google and it came up with the correct value range. Sooo, I guess the moral of this story is that if you think there might be something askew with the numbers of one of your food items, you may be right.

I remember reading somewhere on this site that you have to be careful with the food listings because some (most??) are entered by FS users, so some of the nutritional information may contain errors...

I’ve had numerous run ins with inaccurate nutrition labels. I’ve had to create/add many of my own because lots are not up to date consistently on fs. So it’s always best do double check and google stuff 👍🏻
