for all my home gym buddies out there put a board across your spotter arms for a DIY seal row station. Im going to need a thicker board soon.

Amazing👍 And make sure there‘s enough overhang otb or maybe cleats on the bottom of the board to avoid front/back slippage?

sk.17 thanks and I do have some molding attached to the bottom to stop ot from sliding. Version 2 will be with a 12 ×2 that's longer and have 2 2×4 to go on both sides of the spotter arms and sandwich them in. Should have prerequisite it with OTB not responsible for catastrophic failures death or dismemberment 😆 use at your own risk

🤣 Yeah - no. Resistance bands work fine for me. Same muscles, less chin dents.

@Linda Hamilton definitely would! 🤣 I'm going to have to do a pullup for that costume, urghhhh, as I know someone will request it. BTW, I can tell some are unaware that resistance bands come in packs of different tensions. Do you have any amongst all those toys?

Terrell Owen's couldn't sell me on his resistance band routine. But I did use them prior to buying the bigger stuff

My set came with 5 different tensions ("weights") and anchors, but in your gym they can be looped around your rack. It also came with a clip so you could join all 5 bands for 150 lbs. Not for everyone, but I like how the slight instability works my core. Will check out Terrell Owen just for giggles.

JustBananas he's a jacked ex football player that had an infomercial for his resistance bands claiming that was his routine but everyone knew it was BS. But I have 2 sets of bands both came with 3 different ones and you could add them together. Back when I couldn't do dips I would use them to give me a boost and cut my weight down so I could do them same thing I used them for assistance with pull ups back when I could only do 2 unassisted and I have a clever leg curl that I do with them by threading them through a foam roller and attaching it to the rack. But I did use them for all kinds of things just not anymore

TheUnhealthyDaddy 😄 🤣 😂 I think they have other uses for boards like that 😄 a chin cut out would be nice lol this was the prototype I need to make a better one anyway maybe I'll pad the next one too but it has served its purpose I was doing rows with an incline bench before but would get angry that I kept smashing the barbell into the bottom and didn't have a full range of motion to do them. This works much better

Ooooohhh!!! Would you mind posting a picture of how you set the bands up for the pullup assist? That would help me tremendously.🤗

JustBananas my set up wouldn't work for you because I use my spotter arms to hold the bands but if you put the handles through your pull up bar and then stand or kneel on the bands they will really help especially in the beginning of the movement to get you going but as you get closer to the bar they won't offer as much help as when you were at the bottom of the movement.

I do the seated version of this row. Pulling the weight with the seat on chest takes the air out of me. I am getting use to it but still find myself holding my breath the last few reps.

TheUnhealthyDaddy that stinks I like them much better than bent over rows I'm probably pulling a whole lot less weight than you so maybe I'll run into that issue at some point
