Been a rough couple of weeks. Why after all these years do I still let men get under my skin? I'm strong, independent, live on my own, make my own income, and when I look back over the scheme of things realize that I was the primary bread winner in most of my relationships.

For a "fat" chick, I'm relatively attractive, if you can get past my sarcastic wit. Ugh! This is not the format for lamenting my woes with the opposite sex.

Shouldn't use food as a crutch, but quit smoking Thanksgiving of 2000. (lol) I know that since I quit one bad habit, I should be able to quit this one too. Why is it so hard to ignore KFC when I'm feeling blue? It is the closest thing to "soul" food, you can pick up at a drive-thru, when you aren't eating until after 9 pm, but seriously ...

Thankfully it's going to be a short week cause I'm going on vacation. That means more exercise (yippee!), but also means alcohol & unknown food (misbehavin with my bad girlfriends!)

I will hopefully show restraint, but New Mexico trip means yummy New Mexican cuisine, when my hostess isn't preparing some of her scrumptious French dishes & appetizers.

Wish me strength FS buddies - I'm going to need it.

Enjoy your vacation! I know that there is a lot of great food in New Mexico packed with fantastic veggies like peppers, onions, and plenty of protein. I think you'll be fine. I heard something once about how unheard of it is for French women to feel any shame or negative feelings when indulging in dessert because they've earned it with a culture of healthy, fresh foods and reasonable portion sizes. Maybe this thinking can help on your trip. Also, congrats on quitting smoking! If anything it should show what you're capable of, but you don't have to move mountains in a day.

I use to be an emotional eater. Now when I am stressed I head for the gym first! That seems to help. If not eat something without a lot of carbs in it. If you go through a drive through and order a sandwith: DON'T eat the bun! The meat will taste better without the bun anyway. The best thing that helps me not eat the bun is as soon as I get the burger I throw the bun in the trash before I even sit down to eat. I know I can order it without the bun, but it gives me satisfaction to throw it away.
