Hello Minminp, they say the chef learnt it from Nagoya before opening the shop. Even if it is a little expensive place, it is very popular. This morning I went there on 11:40, half the tables were already occupied including one elderly Japanese and Korean couple. They guide customers to cut eel rice into 4 parts. 1st part, only eel and rice. 2nd, eel rice with toppings (11 o’clock). 3rd, eel rice with toppings and tea (2 o’clock) to make ochazuke. 4th, as you like the best! 😋👍👍 My favorite is 3rd. Always with background music with shima sen 志摩セン.

They also serve anago hitsumabushi (sea eel rice), gimo yaki (grilled eel liver), with Ebisu beer. 😋💰

brilliant! they surely do things in a authentic way. no wonder it's expensive since eel is always very expensive in japan. I've never tried sea eel before, but i have had tachi-ju(sward fish/galchi?) which was coocked and served just like eel with rice in a square box

Minminp, Fresh water eel is very expensive in Korea, too. Sea water eel (anago) is less expensive, but still not inexpensive. I have used this restaurant for about 11 years. I come here after finishing projects to relieve myself, or with families or close friends to buy good meals. A few times, I brought Japanese colleagues who suffered from genuine spicy Korean food for a few days. of course, they dug in. 😋
