exhausted from work and havent done a flat barbell bench in a month and a half but said screw it lets go for a pr hit 215lbs then tried 225 twice but failed both times maybe try again when Im not already spent. I'm surprised I was even able to put up 135 today... time for a nap 😴

So this was a PR at 215lbs? Congrats! I think getting a PR during maintenance or a deficit is always impressive. And working extra hours recently as well? Give yourself a pat on the back. Last I checked you were weighing 160s. I barely hit 225lbs for 1 rep in November when I weighed 168lbs.

TheUnhealthyDaddy Thanks yeah I haven't tried for any 1rm in anything in awhile and have only done incline barbell and Flat dumbell for the past month and half. I could have gotten 220 tonight if I hadn't tried 225 twice and failed. Lots of long hours.. as soon as ive gotten home after 2 10.5 hour overtime shifts I got called back in for 2 and Half to 3 hours of oncall shifts then got kept out late again today with oncall work 🙃 ... it's money though lol and I'm 159lbs as of this morning

Lol 2 more nights of oncall and I can sleep easy again well for 2 weeks until I'm back on again 🙃

ajbusjahn thanks I hope I can get a bit more than this if a try again In a few days. I went back through all my logs and I hit 200 on 12/31 so 3 months later and only adding 15 pounds isn't really the progress I want to see but your right this is still a strong lift compared to the general population. I just want more from myself but know I have come a long way to get to this point.

I'm telling you it is your body weight. 205lbs is 1.3x your bodyweight. At 168lbs I did 1.33x for 225lbs. If you were 173lbs, you would hit 225lbs at 1.3x bodyweight. But you would hit even more with good training and getting to that weight. I'm still only hitting 1.6x bodyweight now. Benching does not go up as quickly as squats or DLs. You are doing great, man. BTW, my 315 PR was only 1.5x bodyweight because I was 212lbs at that time.

Nap sounds really good! I made it to the gym this week, and I am sore! I lose strength, everything so fast if I miss more than a week! Good try for the PR! Wish I was close to that weight!
