Took Bobby for a short walk this morning. It's so cold - only 54 degrees in the house when I woke up. I skipped 2 days of walking because of the rain and garbage truck day so I didn't want to go a 3rd day without a walk. Made it up the hill then turned around and came back. Expecting a dry wall guy this morning, hopefully, and don't want to miss him. The step counter isn't as motivating when it is either so cold or raining or both.
I have 3 cats and they all sleep next to Bobby. But he goes crazy when he sees a cat outside. Same with squirrels. I always wonder what he would do if he caught one. This morning I wasn't paying attention but he got excited and I wasn't holding on to the leash tight enough. He broke away because there was an orange tabby. I called to him. The cat ran away and Bobby didn't even go after it, just sniffed the ground where the cat had been. Kind of reassured me. I don't think he really wants to catch a cat or a squirrel or a wild turkey just likes to see them run away from him.
Left over roast, potato and carrots today with cream of mushroom soup gravy. Didn't hurt me yesterday but I didn't eat anything after having it for lunch around 11am. Since it's such a high fat meat I'm skipping the pumpkin seeds for a snack. It put me at well over 50% of calories from fat. I think I will freeze the rest of the roast and figure out something else for tomorrow.

Bobby makes me laugh just picturing him doing this! lol It is harder to be motivated with bad weather and cold. Enjoy your roast!:)

Bobby sounds fun. He likes adventure. I don't enjoy real hot or real cold weather or walking in the rain or on ice or snow.

Thanks Navywife and Morticia. Bobby loves all the wildlife here, but for different reasons than me. When he sees turkeys on the other side of the dog fence I let him out and he runs and barks at the fence until the turkeys run off and then turns to look at me as if to say "did I do good?". I like the turkeys but try to keep them off my deck because they make a mess. I can't walk in the summer heat so this is the best time of year for me. Just have to bundle up when it's cold and I usually get warm enough on the walks that I unbutton my coat or sweater before I get home. Rainy weather is different but for the past 3 or 4 years it hardly rain at all. Last year we got one rain storm and that was about all the rain.

Wow! That isn't much rain. I think it's nice that you have a walking buddy. He wants to know he is doing good. lol Turkeys gone. Job done. lol

Thanks Navywife - we've had 3 years of drought. Every first rain of the season we start thinking the drought is over, but it isn't. Don't know what to expect this year. Rainy season started on October 1st and we had no rain in October. Thanks Anne!

My freezer is my friend. All my recipes seem to be for 4 so I freeze half and don't have to eat the same thing every day for a week.

Thanks Abba - this is really the only time of year I do much cooking. I have a serving of meatloaf in the freezer still and will put 2 or 3 servings of the roast in the freezer.
