I am not doing good with the insulin shots for my cat. I've never given shots, have no idea what I am doing. I realized after about a week that I wasn't getting any insulin into the syringe, so was injecting him with nothing. Finally I figured out how to get the insulin in the syringe (duh, I need to turn the vial upside down!) but then I haven't been getting the needle into his skin before pushing down to release the insulin, so the insulin gets on his skin. I wipe it off and try again. I am not cut out for this! I just don't like needles. Hope the person who gives me my Covid vaccine is better at shots than I am! I'm embarrassed to call the vet to tell her how stupid I am! Poor Marco, he's in trouble if his health/life depends on me figuring this out. Now for the other cat, Callie - I have pain medicine to give her twice a day and the vet ordered a special form that is a cream that I rub in her ear. That is working out okay.
The diet is going okay, I think. Will know for sure on March 1st when I weigh myself. I did buy 3 2 litre bottles of Coca Cola the last time I ordered groceries, but can work the calories into my day. Low fat hasn't worked last 2 days. I had a grilled cheese sandwich today and yesterday has a salad with 1/2 of an avocado and shredded cheese, plus raw sunflower seeds. All high in fat.
Took the little kitties back to the shelter again. I just can't look at the website, because when I see their pictures I want them back. The ladies at the shelter assured me they will only let them be adopted together since they are a bonded pair. The girl kitty would be terrified without Frankie who keeps her calm. He would probably adapt anywhere.
