Prior generations didn't have much of the science we have today. They didn't worry so much about how to balance their macros.

If they got too big, they realized that if they ate less, the weight would eventually drop (CICO). They'd place that as their top priority and didn't sweat the minutia we wrap ourselves in today.

It wasn't about "What diet are you on?" It was just, "I can't eat that; I'm on a diet." Discipline and caloric restrictions are all that were used in most simple weight-loss cases (barring, of course, medical conditions).

Sometimes, I begin to think we've come to the point where we overanalyze things more than is necessary, we are used to everything around us providing instant gratification and results (we get frustrated easily and move on if they don't) and everyone knows a liiiiiiitle too much for their own good.

Listen to people's testimonies: take the knowledge and filter the junk or anything not applicable to your situation. There's no one-size-fits-all to this or we'd all be doing the same thing with the same results. Learn from those who've succeeded in similar goals - it's what makes this community great!

Slow down. Stop switching gears whenever something new sounds like a miracle cure. It's not a race. You'll get there. Just do it in a way that you'll want to stay there once you've arrived. The game isn't over when you've lost the weight. The game ends at the end of your life. It's a long road, strap in and get comfy... you're gonna be here awhile. 🤘
