Thanks April761. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I do appreciate all you do to keep everyone motivated. I won't eat another mammal, so I guess you can call me a speciesist, if there is such a thing.  

April761 I can see where my use of the term "speciesist" can come into confusion. "'Speciesism' is the idea that being human is a good enough reason for human animals to have greater moral rights than non-human animals. ...a prejudice or bias in favour of the interests of members of one's own species and against those of members of other species. Peter Singer, Animal Liberation, 1975." My first understanding of what "veal" actually was, put me off eating it when I was only 10. Then my first witnessing of a pig being slaughtered a few years later did the same for me and pork. I tried being a vegetarian in 1988, but found it too difficult to maintain the relationship I was in at that time. So I became a pescatarian and that lasted until I moved to Sedona, AZ in '93 and had no resources for fresh and responsibly sourced seafood. There was a nearby farm that had free range and well treated fowl, and that's when I reincorporated poultry into my diet. So I don't fit any of the "ism" categories when I try to explain that I'm a mammal, and therefore won't eat other mammals. Basically if it gives birth then I'm not eating it. I believe the duckbilled platypus is one of the few egg laying mammals, but I won't be eating any of those either.
