Feeling a little sore just now but also feeling good. Walked 7 miles today in 2 hrs and 5 minutes. I have a sister who wants to take a famous pilgrimage "camino de santiago" nearly 500 miles of walking from France through Spain. It sounds daunting to me but she is excited to do it. She says it will take walking 15 miles a day to keep up with the group she wants to go with. I think of this as something 20-30 year-olds do but it seems that 60 somethings also do it. At any rate, I wish her luck and thank her for inspiring me to think that I could walk 15 miles in a day. I got nearly there today in only 2 hours. With practice and building stamina, I know I might be able to consider a walking vacation too. Something that has helped me deal with physical discomfort has been to remember that discomfort has moments of pain that fades fairly quickly in comparison to pain that is sharp and continuous. I think that is a mental trick that athletes know well. J
